Jim Starcher Passes Away

Ohio Loses A Long Time Judo Supporter

Jim Starcher, a dedicated supporter of Judo throughout the Midwest for many years, passed away on Thursday, August 13, 2020

Jim, along with his wife Hannah, supported the development of Judo in many ways - including hosting a summer camp and serving as Registration Chairman and Director of Operations for Ohio Judo, Inc.  But Jim is probably best known for his activities of hauling the OJI trailer and mats around the Midwest, always providing guidance during setup and usually doing a lot of the

work himself.  Sometimes he would head in one direction with the big trailer and 2 mat areas while Hannah went in the opposite direction to a different tournament with a smaller trailer and one mat area.  Truely a unique family that we in the Judo community were blessed to have as part of our family.

Our thoughts and prayers are now with Hannah, Vanetta and the rest of the family during this trying time.
